Landscaping Tips

February 16th, 2008

When you think about landscaping your yard there are a few things to consider. Think about how your yard will look year around. Many times when people landscape they only think about how it will look through the summer. Be sure to add some nice evergreens that will look nice throughout the winter months. Also planting a variety of plants that will bloom at different times of the year will help your landscape look good year around.

Watering your newly planted plants every couple of days at first is a must. Generally the first year after planting is very hard on the plant and it spends most of it’s energy on getting situated in it’s new home. For the first few weeks I suggest watering at least every other day. Then for the next few weeks twice a week should be sufficient. Be sure to lay down a good thick layer of mulch around your plants to help retain the water. Also once a week you can offer a plant food which will help your new plants get growing much faster. If you don’t want to bother with feeding you can simply buy some time release plant food and sprinkle that around them so every time you water they will get a bit of food as well.
